AN OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION. The following official notification of the proposed tour of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York has been issued from Government House:— It is officially announced that in order to mark the importance of the oc casion of the opening of the new C*yital City of the Commonwealth of Austrara at Canberra, H.M.S. Renown will be detached from the Fleet to cun ejr Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York on their proposed visit to Australia and New Zealand. The detailed arrangements of the tour are not yet settled, but Their Royal Highnesses will probably leave England about the middle of January and will proceed by way of the Panama Canal to New Zealand, where it is hoped they will arrive in the latter part of February. It is proposed that the visit to New Zealand should take place first in order to avoid the unfavourable climatic conditions which would be encountered later. Their Royal Highnesses will then proceed to Australia in the latter part of March, and will visit all the States (with the exception of Western Australia) before the ceremony at Canberra on May 9, which will be the culminating point of the tour. They wijl re-embark in the Renown after the ceremony and will proceed Home via the Suez Canal, paying their visit to Western Australia on the way. It is hoped that Their Royal Highnesses will arrive back in England towards the end of June.
