VICTORIA’S UPHILL FIGHT. WOODFULL TOPS SECOND CENTURY. (Received Tuesday 10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Jah. s.—Victoria who made 232 in the first innings, have lost 3 wickets for 372 in the second (Woodfull in 208, Hendry 59, Ryder in 66). The weather was fine and cool and the wicket good. Victoria fought desperately; but the runs came slowly, the batsmen taking no chances against the excellent bowling. Woodfull fought a magnificent uphill battle, not taking a single risk. He played a brilliant ipnings.—(P.A.) (South Australia in their first made 462).
