A JUBILEE CUP.
.. < ■ PROPOSAL FOR MASTERTON RACES. ' The jubilee of the Masterton Racing Club, which has operated for 50 years, takes place this year, and with a view to enhancing the prize for the Masterton Cup handicap, Mr R. Cooper suggested at the annual meeting last evening that a jubilee cup valued at 50 or 100 guineas should be added to the stake. He thought the Club should make a big effort to stage something decent for their Jubilee. i Mr C. J. Bennett suggested that the Club should reverse its racing days, having one day in the Spring and two days in the Autumn. The Autumn meeting could then be made the jubilee fixture. It was decided to apply ( to the Minister for the loan of a day in the Autumn for the purpose of holding a jubilee meeting next March.
