MILLIONAIRE MURDERED.
BY TYPHOID GERMS.
ALLEGED PLOT OF FOSTER FATHER. (Received 9.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 18.—Chicago is again shocked by alleged murder revelations reminiscent of the Leopold Loeb horror. William Shepherd and Charles Faiman have been arrested, charged with the murder by inoculation with typhoid germs of William McClintock, an orphan millionaire, aged 21. Shepherd was foster father and chief heir to McClintock. Faiman, who is a bacteriologist, confessed that he conspired with Shepherd to introduce typhoid germs into McClintock as soon as the victim, had made a will leaving his fortune to Shepherd. Faiman confesses to having instructed Shepherd in the use of germs, which he successfully applied, and McClintock died of typhoid. Faiman says he was promised 100,600 dollars. The revelations are due to Judge Olson, whose brother also died suddenly after warning McClintock against Shepherd. The authorities had stopped previous investigations into the cause of McClintock’s death and apologised to Shepherd.—(A. and N.Z.) .
