WANGANUI, Dee. 15.—The tennis matches between Wellington and Wanganui commenced this morning under ideal conditions.
In the doubles France and Smythe (Wellington) beat Powdrell and Powdrell (Wanganui), 6/2, 6/2; Russ and Marshall (Wanganui) beat Salmond and Young, 6/4, 3/6, 6/4; Lampe and Wheeler (Wanganhi) beat Ellis and O’Brien, 6/1, 6/2; Lampe and Wheeler beat Salmond and Young (Wellington), 6/2, 6/2; France and Smythe (Wellington) beat Marshall and Russ, 6/0, 6/3; Ellis and O’Brien (Wellington) beat Powdrell and Powdrell, 2/6, 6/1, 6/I.—(P.A.)
