MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE. SEQUEL TO CRIMINAL CASE. Auckland, Oct. 30.—-The mysterious disappearance of a girl, Ethel May Lane, aged 15}, from the Supreme Court building on Wednesday morning, is causing great concern to her rela- ‘ tives. The girl was to have been an important witness in a criminal trial from Waihi, but she did not have to give evidence as the accused pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 12. months’ reformative treatment, and on leaving the dock is stated to have called out to the girl “Good-bye Ethel.” She was considerably affected, and became somewhat hysterical. After leaving the eonrt room the girl was seen by her brother to go into the ladies room. Since then all trace J her has been lost.—(P.A.l
