FOR VICE-PRESIDENCY. OVERTURES TO WHEELER. (Press Association— Copyright.) (Received* 11.5 p.m.) Washington, July 19. —Senator Lafollette urged Senator B. K. Wheeler, of Montana, to accept vice-presidential nomination on the Lafollette ticket.
Senator Wheeler was endorsed by the conference for the Progressive political action.
Speaking at Providence, Rhode Island, Governor Flynn said the Attorney General’s department had affidavits naming W. C. Pelkey, chairman of the Republican State Committee, as having provided and directed the placing of a gas bomb which broke tho Democratic filibuster in tho State Senate on June 19 by stupefying the members:—(A. and N.Z.)
