“THE CHRISTIAN.” Those who have not yet been fortunate enough to see “The Christian” should not miss th 3 opportunity of doing so either this afternoon or tonight. It is, indeed, a master produc tion and a faithful interpretation of Hall Caine’s famous novel of the name. The story, as is well known, embraces one of the greatest love stories the world has ever known. The parts of John Storm and Gloria Quayle are vividly played by capable artists. Takeu all round, this is a picture that cannot fail to please any taste. COSY DE LUXE. The good intentions of a genie to reward the young Englishman who had liberated him from a brass bottle, work disaster for all concerned and provide some of the most humorous situations in Maurice Tourneur’s production, “The Brass Bottle/’ which is shaking delighted audiences with laughter at the Cosy de Luxe. The fiancee of the young man goes with her father, an elderly professor, to visit him and finds that his home has been transformed into a magnificent Arabian palace with slaves, eunuchs and dancing girls. Then the genie, angered because the professor refuses to give up the stopper of the brass bottle, turns him into a mule. The trouble with the genie is that, after more than 6000 years’ imprisonment in the bottle; he is not up to the times. All of this doos not please the charming young fiancee, and her lover is at a loss what to do.
