DIFFICULTIES SOLVED. GOVERNMENT’S DECISION. London, May 7.—lt is stated on high authority that Cabinet has found a solution of the long-standing difficulties between the Post Office and the Marconi Company, enabling work to be begun without delay in the construction of stations throughout the Empire. The commercial necessity for speedier communication was not the sole factor in influencing the Government’s decision. The outspoken comments of the Dominion newspapers regarding the Government’s attitude regarding preference and Singapore also had an effect, and Mr Macdonald is anxious for warmer and more cordial relations.—(A. and N.Z.)
