SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. * (Our Travelling Reporter.) Butter-fat. b At a meeting of directors of the Ta ratahi Dairy Company yesterday it was derided to advance l/l per lb on butter-fat supplied during April. Impending Change. j The annual report presented to the S meeting of householders at Carterton eontained the following:—“An impending change is the transfer of Mr Baskiville to Masterton, and the committee wishes to place on record its regret at the circumstances necessitating his transfer. His activities in Sport have received the support of the town and district, and the success ot the South Wairarapa school, sports is due to his organisation.’’ Mr Baskiville is severing his connection with the Cafterton school at the veek-end. Good Response. At the householders’ meeting in Carterton on Monday night the head* * master (Mr J. K. Edie) expressed his thanks to the townspeople for having contributed the sum of £155 17s 5d to special appeals. This amount, he said, was only a few shillings short of that receive* 1 by way of capitation. Good Records. Following are some of the milking records established by Mr E. B. Eaglets Jerseys that are to be offered at auction next month:—3B4lbs in 269 days* 2841bs in 228 days (2-year-old), 321 lbs—246, 319—250, 358—215, 355— 221. 323—222, 261—213 (2-year-old), 261 —184. In a semi-official test one cow has produced 4031bs of butter-fat in 220 days and another 4001bs in 250 ■days.
