The Director (Mr F. C. Renyard) reported that the first term started on February 26, the opening ceremony being performed by Mr W. T. Grundy. In all, 56 classes have been started. The following are new classes : —Electric wiremen’s work (two classes); ticket writing, Mr S. Wilson (one class). A building construction class under Mr Bell has been got going again, and later on it is hoped to- send in the boys for the Grade 1 carpentry and joinery examination of the London City and Guilds. The cookery class on Monday night . for adults has failed this year to attract any pupils. As we have a good kitchen with plenty of utensils and equipment and a first class instructress it is difficult to understand why this subject is so badly neglected. Mr Selby reported on visits to t?ie school during the month. He expressed special pleasure at the way the building class was taken up.
Mr Blackman and Mr Coradine were appointed a visiting committee for next month.
