ITALIANS MALTREATED.

MUSSOLINI’S STRONG PROTEST. Rome, March 8. —The maltreatment of 17 Italian workmen and a priest en route for Belgium by a crowd at Rosenheim, in Upper Bavaria, who thought they were going to the Ruhr, led to vigorous action by Signor Mussolini, who telegraphically instructed the Italian Ambassador at Berlin and Italian Consul at Munich strongly to protest against the attack, and demand an exemplary punishment of the ringleaders, and compensation for the victims. Signor Mussolini’s Note adds that the new Italy will not permit the maltreatment of her subjects, and will defend them, whatever the consequences.
