BAND CONTEST.

TESTS AT DUNEDIN

Dunedin. Feb. 21.—The band contest was continued to-day, solos being disposed of during the day and B grade selection at night . The aggregate in the latter was won by the Runanga Municipal Band, with the Christchurch Tramways second. Following are the results:— B Flat Cornet Solo (open).—H. F. Vincent (Wellington Watersiders), 96 points 1; H. J. T. Osborne (Ist Canterbury Mounted 95 points, 2; G. Christie (St. Kilda) 94 points, 3. Euphonium Solo.—D. Boyd (Kaikorai), 94 points, 1; C. Bryant (Hastings Municipal), 93 points, 2; C. Franz (Redfern), 89 points, 3. In aiyiouncing the decision, the judge, Mr Christophers, of Adelaide, said the bands placed first and second were good enough for A grade competition. A grade first test selection, will ; be played to-morrow night.
