MASTERTON RACES.
TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY. The first race is timed to start at noon, and the Racing Club has made arrangements with local business people to close their shops at 11 a.m. The Masterton Municipal Band will play a programme of music at the meeting. Accommodation has been reserved • for 24 visiting horses on the racecourse. The course is in first-class-order, and if the present fine weater continues seme fast times ought to be recorded. Up to the time of writing, there had been no scratchings, and it is expected that all horses that have accepted will be present at the meeting. For the convenience of investors, Club has provided five IDs windows on the lawn portion of the totalisator. A special train will leave at 11.20 a.m.. arriving at Opaki race-course-siding at 11.29 mm. Masterton passengers will be required to travel by the special train leaving Masterton at 11.20 a.m. A return train for Masterton will leave the racecourse siding at 5.22 p.m.. connecting with train leaving Masterton for Wellington at 6 p.m. A return train north will depart for Woodville, leaving Master! 09 at 5.45 p.m., and racecourse siding, Opaki, at 5.58 p.m.
