The Victorian House of Representatives, by 40 votes to 21, negatived Dr. Earl Page’s motion to reduce members’ salaries.

Six men have been remanded on impersonating charges in connection with the Sydney municipal elections.

The Victorian House of Representatives read a third time the Bill endorsing the agreement under which the Commonwealth repays the Imperial Government the balance of the £92,000,000 advanced for war purposes. The repayments are to extend over a period of 36 years, with interest at 6 per cent.
The Prince of Wales is still shooting and hunting his way across Rajaputana. He arrived at Bharatpur, where there is the finest duck shooting in India. His visit is private, though there is much picturesque and brilliant ceremonial, similar to his visits to other Native States.
“Le Journel” published a message stating that the commander of the U-boat which sank the Lusitania escaped to Paraguay, where he became naturalised. He obtained command of a Paraguayan warship, but the crew, discontented with his iron discipline, mutinied and threw him overboard.
