FARMERS’ FREIGHTS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, — I am glad to see that Mr Holmes is throwing some limelight on the much advertised reduction of freights; but do not let us forget the freezing companies. When things were so bad last June they actually offered the slaughtermen 35s per 100. When things continued to slump they were too careless of the farming interests to withdraw their unreasonably high offer, although in weekly communication with London. I am interested to know how the Farmers’ Union will handle this matter on Tuesday.—l am. etc., J. F. HECKLER. Ihuraua.
