HOSPITAL BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Central Committee was held yesterday, when the following members were present: Messrs W. Fisher (chair), S. Bolton, T. V. Moore, J. C. Ewington, H. H. Mawley, W. B. Matheson and A. O. Considine. Mr E. G. Eton (chairman of the Board), also attended ex-officio. The treasurer’s statement for November revealed credit balances of £1397 4s 5d and £132 9s 4d on the General and Bequest Accounts respectively. The following items are included in the receipts for the months: —Levies from local contributory bodies, £3064 3s 10d; patients’ fees: Masterton Hospital £75 16s, Grey town Hospital and Buchanan Home £92 12s, Pahiatua Hospital £9, Solway Home £3l 6s Bd, District Nurse (Eketahuna) 17s 6d. The following accounts were passed for payment—Masterton Hospital £929 12s 3d, Greytown Hospital £lBl 8s 9d, Solway Home £79 9s 3d, Charitable Aid £197 Os 4d, District Nurse £lB 10s, Martinborough Ambulance £47 3s 9d, capital accoust £lOB7 10s Bd, interest on loans £393 15s, administration £94 10s 9d—a total of £3450 19s 7d. The_ return of patients for November'is as follows: —Masterton Hospital: Admissions 46, discharges 41, deaths 3, remaining at end of month 52; Greytown Hospital: 18, 17, 2, 4; Buchanan Home: 1,1, 0. 23; Pahiatua Hospital: 12, 12, 0, 14. There are at present 12 inmates in the Renall-Solway Home. The secretary of the Labour Day Demonstration Committee wrote asking that if the money handed over to the Board after the labour Day Sports in 1920 towards the cost of a band rotunda at Masterton Hospital had not been spent, it should be handed over to the Soldiers’ Memorial Park Committee. It was decided to intorm the writers that the Government subsidy had been received and thatr this, together with the amount subn : ed (£23 19s 8d) had been specially r-marked, with other monies in ha i.J, for the express purpose for which it was subscribed, and that provision had already been made, in laying out the new road in front of the Hospital, for the rotunda, and that the work would be proceeded with as soon as sufficient funds were available. The Board has signed a petition, circuh *d by the Grey town Borough Count. . requesting the Postal Department to institute a continuous tele; one service in that town. Th proprietor of the Greytown Picture Theatre, Mr Bouzaid, has generously offered to give picture entertainments periodically at the Greytown Hospital. It was decided to heartily thank Mr Bouzaid for his thoughtfulness in providing such entertainments, which are eagerly looked forward to by both patients and staff.
