All started. « Wamba. jumped out and was never headed. Active moved up a l- - the entrance to the straight, but was never dangerous. Time 2.52|. Stewards Hack, £l5O, 6 fur. —Passionless (Ryder) 1, Mountain March 2. Mockery 3. All started—Passionless and Mockery led from the barrier. Mountain March challenged at the distance and accounted for Mockery. Won by half length, short half length. Time 1.15 2-5. Railway Handicap, £275, 6 fur.— Birkie (L. George) 1, Bonny Briar 2, Tommy Rot 3. Scratched —Tari, Tagrinia, Cleasanta. Time 1.15 3-5. Tommy Rot was in front at 5 furlongs. Then Birkie and ISonny Briar came forward. Won by half length. Telegraph Hack, £l5O, 5 fur. — Poucement (C. Stephens) I. Chant Royal 2, Correspondent 3. Scratched —Mountain Peer, Mockery, Boneeto, Conziska. Doucement drew outside position but was established on the rails early and stalled off a challenge. Time 1.2|. 11. Goldfinch, rider of Chant Royal, was suspended for three months for interfering with Kilreid. Gothard Memorial, £450, 1 m. and a distance.—Egmont Park (M. Conway) 1, Admiral Codlington 2, Molyneaux 3. Scratched—Askari. Time 1.58 1-5. Egmont Park was prominent all the way and led into the straight closely attended by Admiral Codrington. In a great finish he won by half length. Molyneaux, who was badly placed, was rapidly overhauling Juvenile Handicap, £2OO, 5 fur. — Highland (IL S. Bagby) 1, Potoa King 2, Mountain Lion 3. Scratched —Wairarapa, Pillage. Time 1.2 1-5. Mountain Lion led into the straight headed by Highland, who won easily. Ruawhata Hack, £l5O, 7 fur.— Earthshine (G. Young)" 1, Blissfulness 2, Voluble 3. Scratched—Chant Royal. Minsk, Earthshine. Voluble led into the straight. Won by Ij lengths; time 1.31. Gorge Handicap, £2OO, 1 m, 170 yds.—Detroit (G. Young) 1, Rose Wreath 2, Princess Pat 3. Scratched —Admiral Codrington. Ruatara showed the way for three quarters of the distance. Won by j length. Time 1.56 1-5.—(P. A.)
