THE LIBRARIANSHIP.

A DECISION ARRIVED AT. A special meeting of the Mastertor Borough Council was called last even ing for the purpose of appointing j librarian. The Mayor (Mr O. N. C Pragnell) presided, and there wer< also present Crs. W. Kemp, E. Hale J. T. Watson, F. W. Temple and W G. Lamb. Crs. T. F. Watson, R Russel], A.' McLeod, T. Jordan, H J. O’Leary and H. M. Boddingtoi were not present. The Mayor moved that the appli cations be considered in comnfittee, which was agreed to. The town clerk read a letter from Miss Thelma McLeod withdrawing hei application, and expressing regret that any unpleasantness should have arisen. On resuming in open council the Mayor announced that Mrs Cohen, oi Featherston, had been appointed tc the position. On the motion of Cr. Temple, seconded by Cr. Lamb, the recommendation was endorsed.
