MORISONS BUSH HALL.
OFFICIAL OPENING. (From our Grey town Correspondent.) The new hall at Morison’s Bush was officially opened on Wednesday night by the holding of a dance. The hall was packed, to its utmost, there being fully 500 people present. The road leading to the new hall was lined with motor cars, buses, traps, and horses from all the surrounding dis- , tricts. In declaring the hall officially opened, Mr G. R. Sykes, M.P., apologised for the absence of their old friend Sir [Walter Buchanan. He complimented the district on its fine hall, and also on the fact that it had been practically erected by voluntary labour, and he expressed the hope that the building, which had been of such great use in times of war, would continue to be useful in peace. The hall was very tastefully decorated and the shaded lights gave a very striking effect. The music was supplied by the Rees orchestra, assisted by Mr Cooper, of the Bush school. During the evening the Misses McIntosh (2), of Waihakeke, gave some Scotch dances, accompanied by Mr Mclntosh on the pipes. The following were responsible for the arrangements :—Decorations, Mrs W. Thompson, Mrs R. Amos, and Miss Terry; ladies’ committee, Mrs T. Ingley and Mrs Thompson (supervisors), assisted by all the ladies of the district; men’s committee, Messrs T. Ingley (chairman), L. J.
