The Government Meteorologist telegraphed last night that present indications were for westerly winds, strong to gale. especially in and southward of Coi.'x Strait; weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain following generally and probably very heavy on the west coast of the South Island; barometer falling everywhere. MASTERTON. Mr. R. Brown reports on the readings at 9 a.in. yesterday:—Simile temperature: Maximum 62.6, minimum 29.4, terrestrial 21, frost lldcg., bright sunshine Bhrs. smin. Mr. Brown also reports that during 30 days in May there were 134 hours 30 minutes bright sunshine; rain fell on 13 days, the total registered being 1.87 points. SOLWAY . Mr. H-. M. Boddington reports that lldeg. of frost were registered at Solway this morning.
