A London message states that the Australian Press Association understands that Mr J. 11. Collins has been appointed acting-official secretary for the Commonwealth in London. The Rev. Isaac .lolly, who has been minister of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Ponsonhy, for the past eleven years, is resigning on account of ill-health. He is suffering from neuritis, and has boon ordered a change and a long rest. Ex-police Sergeant John Watt, who has died in Auckland, served in the Armed Constabulary during the Maori War, and for fifteen years was mounted orderly to Colonel Roberts, hi his prime he was a noted athlete. Mr. 11. Miller, headmaster of the Masterton West School, leaves this afternoon for Wellington en route to Australia, where he will spend some time in Melbourne and Sydney before returning to the Dominion. A Oreymouth telegram, received last night, stated: A well-known pioneer Oreymouth citizen named William O'Kaiiie djed to-day. Tie resided for over fifty years on the coast.
