BOWLING

PARK BOWLING CLUB,

Two rinks from the Petone Central and one from the Petone Club wero the guests during Easter of the Park Howling Club, and, as the weather was ideal for "re ancient game," it is needless to snv a very pleasant time was spent. A series of games on the Iluddart Parker principle were played, and proved interesting, several of the finishes being very close. During the holiday the visitors were motored to Featherston, where all were hospitably entertained in the Featherston Club's usual generous way, and some pleasant games were enjoyed. As a trial of strength, a test game was played on the Park Green on Monday morning, the home teams proving victorious in the aggregate by two points. The teams and scores were as follows, Petone being mentioned first: — T. Henry, Jowett, Leavey, Mockridge (s) 22; Bentley, Prentice, Gibson, Slaniforth (s) 17. Hounslow, Spcnce, Green, Pawson (s) 15; lioulston, Eer.ai, Bell, Swinerd (s) 20. Parkin, Harris, Jones, Haig (s) IS; Finlayson, Dixon, Duncan, Prico (s) 20. A progressive euchre tournament was held on Saturday evening in the Parle Kiosk, the winners being Mr. C. Wilton and Mr. Parkin. Advantage was taken of the occasion by Mr. T. Green, president of the Petone Central Bowling Club, to thank the Park Club for their kind reception and generous treatment of the visitors. He also extended a hearty invitation for a return visit to his Club, when the members of the Park Club would be assured of a real good time.
