RETURNED SOLDIERS
COMMITTEE MEETING.
A meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers' Association was held in the secretary's office, Masterton, last night, the President, Mr J. A. Cowles, in the chair. There were also present Messrs Beetham (vice-president), Hebenton, Pellew, Burridge, McKenziy, iand McKay. Sub-committees were set up to make arrangements for a combined pub.lc service in commemoration of Anzac Day, and to arrange for a grand "Anzac" concert, to be held m 'the Opera House, Masterton, on Monday, April 26th. Arrangements were also made to hold similar concerts ill the various centres of the Wairarapa. The committee set up to go into the matter of securing a piece of ground, in the Masterton- cemetery for the burial of returned men whose homes are not in this district, reported that the Borough Council had approved of a space to suit the Association, apd arrangements were completed for the consecration of th© allotted ground. . The annual ttieeting of the Association was fixed for May BtH. _ Arrangements in connection with the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Masterton were held over until next meeting. Mr R. C. Bell tendered his resignation as a member of the committee. Accounts amounting to £3 9s were passed for payment.
