ANALYSIS OF VOTES.

An analysis of the votes recorded at the general election in Now Zealand on Wednesday last, subject to tno final count, gives the following result:— Reform 199,552 Liberal 168,351 Labour 147,487 It will be seen that the combined Liberal and Labour vote exceeded that of Reform by over 110,000. The combined Reform and Liberal votes overwhelmed those of Labour. Nevertheless, if a system of proportional representation Were in vogue, Labour would be entitled to over twenty seats in the House, instead of ten. The electoral system is in sad need of repair. But who is going to repair it?
