THE LIQUOR VOTE.
It would be idle to strive to discount the significance of the voto that was recorded in New Zealand on Wednesday last in favour of Prohibition. The majority of 10,000 for Continuance that was recorded in 1914, and again in April last, has been practically ]viped out. It is true that 'the' vote &r thereabouts, for Prohibition, and that the' pendulum at tho next poll iwung in the opposite direction. But, luring the last few years, there has >een an accession to the ranks of the Prohibitionists, and unless the Trade >lacea its house in order, and caters :or the people with a better class of iquor and improved accommodation, ts fat© is sealed.
