WAIRARAPA HYDRO-ELEC-TRIC INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE
The Committee of Investigation which has been working for the purpose of having an electric power district established in the Wairarapa has successfully completed the first portion of its programme, and now advertises a large petition from ratepayers throughout the whole of tho district proposed to constitute the "inner area." The "inner area" is that portion of the Wairarapa Valley to which, according to expert advice, the means of conveying electricity will be a practical and businesslike undertaking There is also an "outer area" provided for, to which, at any time that closer settlement may warrant it, the lines can be extended for the supply of current. The petition now complete is advertised in this issno, and will be presented to the Governor-General for approval one month from the date of this publication. A plan showing that portion of each •county included in the "inner area" may now be inspected at tho office of each County Council, and the petition, together with a plan of the whole district, is open for inspection at the office of the Carterton Borough Council. *
The whole of the Borough of Master ton, Carterton, Grey town, Feather and Martinborougr are, of course, included.
