P. AND T. SERVANTS

THE WAR BONUS

(By Telegraph—Press Association) QREYMOUTH, Last Night.

The following resolution was carried unanimously at a meeting of the West Coast branch of the Post and Telograph Association held to-night:— "That this West Coast section of the P. and T. Association strongly protests against an attempt to deprive members pf the promised war bonus. The cost of living is still increasing, and the bonus is absolutely necessary, as the recent salary increases do not nearly meet the needs of the service. We also strongly protest against Cabinet's decision to refer the question of Sir Joseph Ward's promise to an independent tribunal, a 9 the delegates to the 1918 conference all state definitely that the promise was made verbally, and this, taken with Sir Joseph Ward's statement, should be sufficient proof for any person."
