MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of .the general committee or the Wairnrapa and East Coast P. and A. Society • was held on Saturday. There was a large attendance!, and Mr; ,T. Hoddei (president) occupied the chair. In moving the adoption of the financial statement, tfie president stated that, taking things altogether, thoy liad come through verv satisfactorily. The receipts wore £483 lis in excess of last year, and the expenditure £324 14s 4d more. As the profits last year on the working expenses amounted to £205, it. could be expected that the profit this year would reneh £352 odd.

The following commrison in receipts was submitted bv the treasurer : —Subscriptions (r>aid and due), 1919. £BBB (1918, £767); donations, £703 14s (£631 lis); entry foes, £323 8s 6d (£264 7s fid); rr,"tes and stand, £212 5s (£lO7 13s 6d); nnVleges, £25 (£lB 10s): spaoe and sido shows, £26 5s (£2l 17s); tea-rooms, £3B 4s (59 (£8 13s fid); guessing competition, £SO 12b (£35 7s fid); catalogue sales, £3O 13s fid (£22 19s); catalogue advertisements, £46 (£42 10s); advertisements in schedule. £l2 (£lO 15s); rents, £66 17s (£62 17a ; material sold, £79 6s 6d (£24 lis fid). The treasurer reported that the receipts since last meeting were £1866 19s fid, and the expenditure £1517* 13s lOd.

On the motion of Mr. , seconded by Mr. A. E. Booth, it was decided to include a class for hacks over IT stone that hare never won a prize, and a similar class for ladies' hacks."

It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Caverhill, seconded by Mr. McPhee, that prizes He offered for the best boy and girl rider, under 15 years.

ft was resolved to have the new pavilion covered by a fire risk for the whole year. As complaints hnd been received from Mr. Moody, it was decided to alter the schedule to read, cow visibly in calf, calf nt foot, or in milk, and that the same conditions apply to the three-year-olds. The secretary intimated that Mr. Moody had offered a prize of £5 for the best yearling steer, to be judged on quality. The offer was accepted, and it was resolved to place the class on the schedule. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Fisher, seconded by Mr. Court, that the Grade Shorthorns be cut out of the cow classes. Si*- W. offered two guineas in order to encourage the butter-fat competition. Th eoffer was accepted with thanks. On the suggestion of Mr. W. H. Booth, it was decided to include classes in the Romney section for untrimmed and unhoused sheep.—Mr. Femt offers £2 2s as prize-money and Mr. Kempton £1 Is.
