MASTERTON v. FEATHERSTON.

Three teams ; from the Masterton Club paid a visit to Featherston on Saturday, to play for tho Shield, and a most enjoyable time. The games were all keenly contested. T«e Featherston * players were in good form, and, although the Masterton teams were victorious in every game, they only won after a keen struggle. In one game Elliott (a Featherston skip) was actually leading with 15—2 on the board, with the game nearly half through. The Masterton boys then pulled themselves, together and won an exciting game by 20 to 19. The match ended as follows, Featherston being mentioned first : Benton, Kendall, Harrison (s) 14, Spackman, Hunter, McCalden, Kerr (s) 23.

The games were played under very pleasant conditions, and several old acquaintances renewed and new ones made, which it is hoped will be further cemented as the season advances.
