FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
ANOTHER SPORTING ATTEMPT.
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (-Mistralian-N.2'. Cable Association.) Received Last Night, 8.50 o'cfcsck. Captain Ross Smith's brother, Lieutenant Keith. Smith, and two Australians, Sergeants Bennett and Theirs, accompany the Pilot as mechanics. Lieut. Smi'h assured the Australian Pross Association that he waa confident that, with ordinary luck and weather, he could accomplish the journey in the specified time. He hoped to reach Lyons at three o'clock to-day. The next sage would be Rome, then Athens, Egypt, Mesopotamia and India. Lieut. Smith added: "I know the Egypt to India portion of the route, owing to my experience in accompanying General Salmond from Cairo to Calcutta. The airmen were accorded a. stirring send-off. Prince Albert, Brigadier-General Seely, and Brigadier-General Sykes sent message, wishing them all good luck in their sporting flight.
