TWENTY AMERICANS DROWNED.

(Received July 2nd, 9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July Ist. Tiie Consul at Bristol reports that twenty Americans were drowned. This fact caused a sensation in official" circles, particularly because it was expected that Germany's reply was favourable to the American Note. The Officials contend that the ship should have been searched and the crew transferred to safety before the vessel was destroyed.
