BOTH PROPOSALS CARRIED. Th<? poll of ratepayers of Masterton on tho proposals to raise loans of I'KL'/'O for water extension and £IO,IOO fur municipal buildings took pla. o } tsterday. Comparatively, little iiittiivst was taken in the poll, and oi 3809 voters on the roll, only 362 took the trouble to record their votes. Under the Act which came into force this month, the Returning Officer is required to make a scrutiny of'the votes and rolls before he makes his formal declaration. Mr R. Brown announced at 7.30 o'clock last "evening, that the unofficial result was as follows:
