Sir George Newman, chief medical officer of the Education, Board, reports that of six million school children' examined 10 per cen/t, possessed defective eyesight,; 2 per cent, defective hearing, 2, per cent. §ypptirating ears, 10 per cent. - adenoids, 1 per cent, ringworm, 1 per cent, tuberculosis, 35 per cent. Heart disease, and over 50 per cent, requiring a dentist, > Half a million were physically undermined owing to mabiutritiota.
