Our Own Correspondent. It is expected that the formal opening of the Carterton bowling green will take place on Thursday week, ,I'he green is ready, and the committee has decided to allow preliminary play to be indulged in today. A motor car adventure occurred m the Ta rat alii road, opposite Mr Pay's residence on Tuesday afternoon. It appears that Mr and Mrs Foreman, of Alixedton, were returning to Carterton from iMasterton. and when m close proximity to the corner o: White's Line intersection with the high way j Mr Foreman .steered to one side to avoid an approaching trap, and in some unaccountable way the .wheels twisted to the full lock and the car overturned, throwing the occupants to the ground. Both of them were bruised and shaken, and Dr Gunn was sent for. Mrs Foreman was removed to Nurse Whitehorn's private hospital, where she received skilled attention. She will remain in the hospital for a few days, suffering chiefly from shock. Mr Foreman's injuries were not so serious, and he went home to Alfredton yesterday. Mrs and Miss Davison, of Carterton, are at present in London, and from advice received by friends, are having a very pleasant time. Miss Thelma Peterson, Carterton's young singer, is now studying under Sign or Garcia, in the Royal College of Music, London. The Wairarapa Automobile Association on Tuesday evening decided Jo hold motor cycle races at Tauherenikau, provided the course could be secured on Saturday, December 28th. Mr W. Howard Booth has signified his willingness to donate a cold medal for the Wairarapa championship race,
