THE RAILWAY MANAGER.
ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND.(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The General Manager of New Zealand Railways, Mr Ernest H. Hiley, .. arrived by the Niagara to-night. When interviewed Mr Hiley said: — '•-■'"l shall be happy to see you. later, when I am in a position to, say some- . thing, but just now I could only tn!k Mr Hiley purposes to stay in Auckland till Thursday night, unless he receives advice from Wel- . lington which causes him to alter his plans. He is anxious to meet the Minister for Railways as sodn as possible, and will see as much as he can of the New Zealand system as opportunity perj- rnits. Mr Hiley spent three weeks in North America, and was able to inspect the Canadian-Pacific system very thoroughly. Ho is accompanied by his wife, who is an Australian by birth. Their little girl is coming later.
