WEDDINGS.
MADSEN—JOY. At the Master-ton Congregational Church yesterday afternoon an interesting wedding was. celebrated, the contracting -parties being Mr Frank Madsen, of the staff of the Manattata Standard, Palmerston, and formerly i of the Wiairarapa Age staff, fifth son of Mr and Mrs M. C. Madsen, Masterton, and Miss Minnie Gertruda Joy, 'daughter of Mr ard Mrs G.' L. Joy, of Masterton. The bride was given away by her father. ?md was charmingly attired in a dress of white charmeuse satin, trimmed with gilk lace, and bearing the ustial veil Jnd ||&Pge blossoms. The brijle also car|iM .a beaiiTiful shower bouquet of maidenhair fei'ir and; f resias. Misses Gladys and Jessie, Joy were the bridesmaids, and" were prettily dressed in white hailstone muslin. They also wore pretty blue hats and carried shower bouquets. The Rev. B. L. •Thomas was the officiating clergyman. Mr .George Joy acted as best man, and Mr J. Andrews as groomsman. The bride received from the bridegroom a handsome gold) bracelet set with olivenes and amethysts, and the bridesmaids gold pendant and chain and gold brooch set with garnets. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Congregational Sunday School-room, when a large number of relatives and friends were entertained and the usual toasts honoured. The happy couple were the recipients of many valuable presents. Mran<s Mrs Madsen left later for the. south, where the honeymoon will be spent. "STANTON—DOE. At St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, yesterday afternoon the wedding was solemnised of Mr Reginald C. Stanton, Masterton, and Miss Clara J)oe, daughter of Mr Ephraim Doe, of Wilmot, Tasmania. The bride, who was given away by her hrother-in-law, Mr J. B .Rue, vuas handsomely dressed in a tailor-made costume. She was attended by Miss Grace Christie as Bridesmaid, who wore a pretty cream voile dress, and carried a. shower bouquet. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. H. Watson, and Mr J. Crawford acted as bestman. The wedding breakfast was held at the Arcadia tea rooms, whero a number of friends gathered. Mr and Mrs Stanton left by the afternoon train on their honeymoon trip.
