It was not in tho interests of the Board that the whole of the nurses should he under the control of the matron at Masterton. Mr F. W. Kummor urged that the matter bo dealt with in a very careful manner, as the question of hours and such things had to he considered. Tho Chairman moved that a subcommittee he set up, to consist of ■Messrs. Herbert, Kummcr, W. Mooro, Bolt-on, Fisher and Ewington, to report. Mr W. Moore moved a.s an amendment that the Board go into committee to deal with the question at oil.ee Mr Cornelius seconded tho amendment. Mr Herbert moved as a. further amendment that the matter, .be. referred to a sub-committo consisting of the members of the various Hospital Committees.

This amendment was seconded by Mr 1). McLeod, and was carried, on a show of hands, by eleven votes to five.
