MT. COOK HERMITAGE

Mr T. Buxton, M.P., who was a member of the Mackenzie Government when plans of the new Mount Cook Hermitage were adopted, has ma do a statement in reply to Sir John Findlay'ss criticism that the new building shciild have been made much larger, and a billiard-room included. Mr Buxton says he had to cut his coat according to the cloth, the oast of the building, according to tho accepted plan, being a- s high .as the Government was justified in undertaking at the present. -Moreover, people interested in the Hermitage .say the building will be large enough for the immediate future, seeing that the present buildings w j|| s tjj] j, e av «iliiMo.
