IMMIGRANTS SOON' EMPLOYED. (]}</ Telegraph. — 'Press Association.') WELLINGTON, Last Night. Mr J. W. Collins, of the Labour Departments having completed his inquiry in Wellington regarding the shortago of labour in the manufacturing industries, left this evening for the south to pursue his investigations. After visiting Christchurch and Diinodin he will go to Auckland. Of the large number cf immigrants who arrived last evening by the s.s. Reniuera, only about'.twenty hnvo -so far applied to the Labour Department in sea roll of work. As nearly all were prepared to accept country employment, no difficulty was found in placing them.
