MAURICEVILLE WEST. .Our Own Correspondent. Much inconvenience and loss is caused to users of the railways in this district by the delay of the Railway Department in delivering goods, hi .some instance it has taken fourteen days for goods to arrive after being dispatched from Wellington. A meeting of the newly-formed sports club was held in the old .school room on Saturday night, to make arrangements for the , Easter Monday meeting. About, thirty -members attended, and the task of appointing office-bearers and a strong ground committee met with great .success. The sports arc to be held in a. paddock kindly lent by .Mr H. Xeilson just opposite the old sports- ground, where some of the'finest .meetings of the Wairarapa have ta.ken place. The meeting will bo unregistered this year, and programmes may be obtained from the secretary (Mr R. H. Comb) after the 17th inst. Full particulars will he advertised later in the Wairarapa Age. Mr E. Pedorsen, an old resident of the«se parts, left yesterday in company with Mrs Pedersen to take up their residence in Eketahuna. A large number of local athletes intend visiting the Hastwoll sports, on Thursday. A brake will leave Mr Mattson's vstore at 10 a.m., for the convenience of visitors.
