AN ABORTIVE CONFERENCE. WAITARA, Last Night. A conference which was held today between the management of tho "Bortlnvick works here, and the .butchers, proved abortive, the latter turning down the offer made them. The firm state that they are preparing a statement for the press. Meanwhile they state that the old butchers are-not going back.
