The latter team Jiavc shown true sportsmanship by travelling to Masterton each Saturday during tho season, and it would havo greatly pleased the majority of cricketers had ( they won tlie championship. For the final match ■Mart-inborottgh led Carlton by one point, and last Saturday's match was the deciding factor. Carlton, mainly through tho good bowling of 11. Hickson and 0. Welch, proved too good for the visitors, who had to succumb', though only by a few runs. The match was played on a bowler's wicket, and the. scores wero low ni each innings.
