WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wel--lington Land ißoard was held in Wellington on Thursday. The Cc-mimis-sioner of Crown Lands (Mr James Mackenzie) presided, and there were also present Messrs J. Dawson, H. T. Mlingham, James Georgetti, and William Mclennan. EDUCATION RESERVES. The transfer was approved of Section sa, Block IV., Mangaone (Paa Creek Settlement), 6 acres 3 roods 22 perches', Mrs A. Smyth to Thos. Hodgins junr. "A suMease -was granted of Sectioxi 270 a, Block 111., Ana.warua, 548 aores' 1 rood 28 perches, G. Kendall to fTlios. JSalsby.' The term is 5 years. 3 months, from October Ist, 1911, and the Kent £l5O per annum.
TRANSFERS
The following transfers -were approvied, subject to everything being in order:— Mr Wan. Welsh, section 11, Block XIX., Mangaone, 204 acres, to Mr W-m John Balsillie; Mirss E. M. Evansy selector of Section. 4, Block I, Waipawa, Dyer, to Mir Clarence £)bree Evans (369 acres); Mrs A. Smythe, Sections; 5a 'and 4, Block IV, Mangaone, Paa Creek V.S., 22 acres 3 roods 7 perches, to Mr Thomas Hodgins, jiun. Mr M. R. Smith, Section 15, Block XIII., Huarangania, Dyer Settlement, 4j82 acres 1 2 roods, to Mr N. G. Hawthorn; Mr Tom. Mason, the sub-lease of 106 acres 2 rood©>.of section 37, Block VII., Tararua, 200 acres, io Mr Ware.
Mr John. Mclntyre applied to transfer Section 15, Block X, Mount Cerberus, 256 acres', to Mrs L. B. Davidson, and it was resolved to decline the application. •Mr R. Stack applied to transfer his license of section 22, Block XIII, Mangahao, 200 acres, to Mr J. Senk, and it T\a& rcsolvied to. get a report from th© ranger.
Mr J. Kelly applied to transfer his leases of sections 49 and 53, Block XVI, Makuri, 300 acres and 86J acres respectively, to_ Mirs- M. S.
Thompson. The ranger will report <n the. matter.
GENERAL. A plan was submitted on behalf of the Public .Works Department, showing a proposal to wdden the Waih/iAkitio Road, abutting on; Sections 3a and 3, Block 11, Mount Cerberus, held under O.R.P. It was resolved that the 'Board give the necessary consent to the proposal. The Commissioner reported that a new road had been taken through Section 3, Longbusli Estate, and that a ipart of the. old road had beem closed by way of exchange.—lt was resolved to recommend the Land Purchase Beard to have the area of the closed road declared subject to the Land for Settlements Act, under Section 79 thereof, and that it be thereupon added to the section, and the Please amended accordingly. It was resolved to graait a permit to Mrs. J. D. Murphy to graze on Sections 31, 32, 33, 131, and 135, Block VI, Miakuri Township, for a period of three months from November 1, 1911, on condition that she eradicates ragwort and noxious weeds.
A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on Mr W. H. Fisk's application to subdivide Section 4a, Block XI, .Mangahao, «123 acres 0 roods 9 poles, and transfer about 50 acres to. Mr G. Gregory, which "was postponed from last meeting and .it was resolved not to grant tho application. It was resolved to grant a permit to Mr Thos. Biggar to occupy Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, MaJkuri Township 5 acres 0 roods. 12 poles, from year to year, at a rent of £2 10s j < v annum, subject to the usual conditions, and to termination, at any time, one ishillitig only to be- charged for tfho first year if willow" planting on the river bank is done satlsfactorily. MJrs Saa'ah Rose applied to convert the tenure of Seotiopn 29, Pahiaf.ua V.S., to a renewable lease, and .'t was resolved to approve on the usual conditions.
