GYMNASTICS.
As long as the world lias been a world the strong man has been the admired of tho people. History makes special note, of the strong man of the period. In our own lioij Sandow, Hackenschmidt, and i.tht-rc stand out as giants of strength. Ix is not given to all to become i« these, but wo .may all be physically strong if we follow certain rules and take the necessary exercises. The gymnasium at the Y.M.C.A., undtr the able control of Mr R. 0. Jarreti, and Mr A. Williams, supply all that is .necessary, and they are doing a good 'work in our midst. To enable the public to judge of the wcrk don© a great display ■will be Ixeld in the I Town BDall on Thursday, oth ii»st., ■ when the ladies', .men's and boys' classes will provide an interesting ■.programme, including an exhibition of muscular .posing, tableaux, and .set pieces. Popular prices will be charged, and seats may be b) >ked at •Miss Rive's.
