In the Legislative Council yesterday, the debate on the motion of the Hon. J. D. Orrnond, commending the iLand sett'lertient proposals of the Prime -unister, was continued by tlH> Hon®. W. W. MeCa-rdle, McGowan, Sinclair and Sir John Findky. The Han. J. D. Ormond having replied, the motion was carried, and the Council rose. .

HOUSE- OF REPRESENTATIVES.

Tlie House of Representatives went into Committee on the Estimates. The Justice Department vote of £376,-J3O was discussed at considerable length. Titoe vote was ultimately passed inaltered. The Miiies Department vote L'l~,136) was then discussed. (Loft sitting.)
