The remains of the late Mr. John McKay were interred in the Masterton cemetery on Thursday. The ceremony at the graveside Was performed by the Rev. A. T. Thompson, 8.A., B.D.
Mr Geo. Simpson, senr., one of the oldest settlers in the Te Wharau district, was taken suddenly ill on Wednesday morning, and found it 'necessary to visit a doctor in Masterton. At latest advices Mr""'. Simpson was progressing satisfactorily. - Mr F. Richards, of Masterton, has taken up land at Tauranga, Bay of Pjfenty, where he intends to settle.
