ANOTHER MEMBERSHIP CRUSADE
THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
At the meeting 1 of the Masterton Chamber of Commerce yesterday, Mr R. (Brovv.ii expressed the opinion that ' a vigorous effort should be made toj ink.Tea.se the membership of theChamber' during the coming year. Other institutions were making special efforts- to swell their 'membership, and he thought the Chamber should do ilikewise. Now was the, time, he said, to take the necessary steps. Mr F. W. Carey thought the idea. a. good one. In answer to a question, it was stated that the membership at- present was only thirty-three. Mr Brown thought they should have no difficulty dn getting a membership of one hundred. Eventually, on the motion of Mr Gr. C. Summerell, a isiib-comiuittee consisting of the* President, Vice-Prd-sident, and Mr R. Brown was set up* to canvass, for new members.
