MOVEMENTS OF ITALIAN WARSHIPS
DEMAND FOR GUARANTEES. (Received Last Night, 10.10 o'clock.) ROME, September 27. Italian warships are cruising off Tripoli. An Italian Note to Turkey demands guarantees for the protection of Italians. The Note adds that to despatch reinforcements to Tripoli would be regarded as an extremely serious act. It is understood tlhait the guarantees are equivalent to some form of protectorate.
YOUNG TURKS EXCITED
EXPRESSIONS OF THE PORTE. MOHAMMEDAN RIOTS. (Received Last Night, 10.10 o'clock.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Sept. 27. Although the Young Turks are greatly excited against Italy, the Porte expresses its willingness to remedy any of their legitimate grievances. The Port© is now striving to secure Germany's and Austria's friendly intervention. The Mohammedan Albanians have revolted in. the Rozaj district, killing Kamaikan and capturing the garrison. The revolt is spreading. The object is to secure for Mohammedans the s&me concessions as iu MaJissori.
OFFICER'S DEPARTURE POSTPONED.
