A meeting of the Finance • Committee of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board Avas hold yesterday, there being ..present Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman),; W. Fishery and J. C. Ewingtoii. .; '. The treasurer's report, which was adopted, showed that the balance at last meeting stood at £3093 65.9 d, receipts since. £ll2l 7s 2d; total, £4214 13s lid; expenditure, £1707 7s 9d, leaving a balance at date of £2507 6s 2d.

The distribution of balances was —Ordinary maintenance account, £2092 4s 8d; South Wairarapa building fund account, £415 Is 6d. In connection • with expenditure on charitable aid, the secretary was instructed to write to certain local authorities drawing their attention to the amounts expended, and requesting to' be supplied with full particulars. The committee decided to recommend the Board to place a- tablet, bearing the name "Renall Sohvay Home," on the institution, in High Street The action of ,the chairman and secretary in dealing with certain cases for relief was endorsed by the committee.

Claims from local authorities for refunds of charitable aid dispersed amounting to £259 17s 3d were passed for payment. Sundry small accounts amounting to £lO 17s. 2d were also passed for payment.

The secretary was authorised to disburse travelling expenses incurred by Board members in attending meetings as per declarations received.

The fourth instalment of supply to the Masterton Hospital, of £3OO, was passtd for payment. After deciding to meet again immediately prior to the Board meeting oji the sth of next month, the meeting adjourned.
